We might have moments of happiness in life, but these cannot be controlled or forced. When happiness in life is interrupted by suffering and pain we are faced with an opportunity to ‘suffer through’ into deeper and deeper depths of meaning. Throughout the time with me as your therapist I will join you in the journey of experiencing the emotions that are under the surface, discovering how to experience them (potentially for the first time) in a visceral way, and ultimately towards the place of stability and grounding that we all desire.

It is my philosophy that life is not a problem that we must solve but is an experience to be lived and felt. These emotions and our life situations do not always feel safe and comfortable to face, we fear that we will lose control of ourselves or fall apart if we surrender to them. Yet, it is my deep belief that emotions and feelings come to tell us something about our past, present, and what we need for our future.

Together I hope to guide you through the emotional forest into a place of order, confidence, emotional attunement, and deeper meaning in life. Ultimately navigating the places of current chaos towards a place where you feel that you have permission to be who you really are. I have devoted my personal and professional lives to the exploration of the inner elements of people as individuals and their relationships. Seeking and facilitating pathways to inner wellbeing, harmony, resolving internal and external conflicts, and building stronger empathetic connection and intimacy between couples.

My approach to psychotherapy could be described as the intersection between neuroscience, philosophy, analytical psychology, clinical techniques, and visceral attunement, which I practice from a creative and emotion-focused/experiential lens. Pulling elements of my approach from art therapy, mindfulness-based therapy, emotion-focused therapy (EFT), internal family systems (IFS), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), narrative therapy, and cutting edge psychology and neuroscience research.

I provide counselling for a wide variety of areas, some of which include anxiety, depression, low self-confidence, self-discovery and development, interpersonal struggles, grief and bereavement, religious/spiritually informed counselling, and life crisis.

When working with couples I use emotion-focused couples therapy (EFCT), encounter centered couples therapy (ECCT), and family systems approaches. All of my work with couples stands of the findings from the field of relational neuroscience.
