Facial Rejuvenation & cosmetic Acupuncture
Cosmetic acupuncture is a natural, gentle and non-invasive treatment that can help to revitalize the look and feel of the skin. Following Traditional Chinese Medicine philosophy to support Qi and Blood circulation, Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture harmonizes the body internally to improve the appearance of the skin from the inside, as well as the, outside.
How It Works
During the treatment, thin needles are inserted into the face, ears, neck, scalp and/or other areas of the body. Locally, the insertion of these needles stimulates collagen and elastin production, through the body’s natural wound healing response, improving the skin’s appearance. Acupuncture needles also increase circulation and blood flow to the face, bringing more nutrients to skin cells and creating a glow and brightness to the complexion.
After the needles are removed, small glass cups and a flat, smooth Jade stone, called a Gua Sha stone, are applied to the skin. Through suction and scraping movements, these tools help to increase lymphatic, fluid and blood circulation and relax tight fascia and muscles, helping to reduce inflammation in the face.

What to Expect in your acupuncture appointment at nrh
-
Meet & Greet
All treatments begin with a complimentary 15 minute Meet & Greet over the phone to determine if Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture is right for you and to answer any questions you may have.
-
Initial Visit
During your initial visit, your Naturopathic Doctor or Acupuncturist completes a thorough health history intake and discusses your concerns. They will then look at your tongue and check your pulses (aka tongue and pulse diagnosis), which in Traditional Chinese Medicine, is an assessment of disease patterns. Each area of the tongue and pulse relate to meridians and organ systems, which will help your practitioner determine which points are to be needled.
The remaining time will be for the treatment, where, thin, solid needles are inserted into the ears, scalp, face and body.

Follow-up Sessions
